After the sad passing of Alan Lole in January this year, myself and my daughter were determined to continue his legacy in the way that he would have wanted.

The support he has received for the tree throughout the past 17 years meant a huge amount to him and he was always so very grateful for the donations given. This has enabled the village of Meriden to have a wonderful feature on the Green every Christmas and at the same time raising money for the two charities which were very dear to him, Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie Care.

To date the Meriden tree of Thought has raised £76,892 and we as new trustees would ask for continued support from all quarters of our community to keep Alans memory alive and raise as much as we possibly can for these worthy charities.

To honour Alan’s memory, the tree will now be known as the Alan Lole Tree of Thought
